What should I do- eye is swelling up?

I have really bad summer allergies, and contacts. One day while I was at school, I felt something in my eye, so I went to the bathroom mirror to look. In my bottom eyelid, there was something that looked like an "eye booger". I took a q-tip and got it out. What looked like this itty-bitty thing was really almost 2 inches long. It was about as thin as a hair. I was like.. Oh well, probably because of my eyes watering. But it's been happening since then (2-3 weeks). But today, as I was getting one out, I realized that it was a little different- instead of just floating at the bottom of my eyelid, it was attached to the bottom of my eyelid. It was skin peeling off of the inside of my eyelid. Can anyone tell me what the HELL is happening? Thanks.
