Looking for a suburb in Portland!?

me and my girlfriend have been thinking of moving up north ( we live in Arizona) and we need to escape this heat! but we need to find a place to live! we were looking near Beaverton and Aloha and maybe even Lake Oswego but they seem pricey. does anyone know of a place near Lake Oswego that isnt expensive? thanks! :D
