My one year old has a bad cold?

She is having neon green snot and lots of it, a cough, watery eyes and a fever. The doctors office always JUST recommends a humidifier, booger sucker and nasal spray. Any moms out there recommend anything else? I don't want it to turn worse. I haven't actually taken her to the dr because when I called to set the appt her dr called back and said she'd call in a prescription for zyrtec....really!?!? She has a fever so its NOT allergies! She's also had diarrhea. She had her flu shots....
